Deed Roll is a project about publicly recorded land records in the United States — documents such as deeds, mortgages, liens and plats — and about the local offices that hold them. It is still being built and is not open to the public.
What it is not
It is not a title search, a title opinion, or a determination of who owns anything. It does not show the contents of recorded documents. It is not affiliated with any government office.
Looking for a recorded document?
Recorded land records are held locally, by the office responsible for the place where a property sits — often a county recorder, a register of deeds, or a clerk of court. That office is the authoritative source for its own records and can say what it holds and how copies are obtained.
